Mono and Multiphase thermofluid dynamics

The research line is oriented to the basic and technological aspects of applied thermodynamics and heat transfer. More specifically it includes the skills on thermodynamic analysis of energy processes and their environmental impact, energy conversion and utilization, fossil and renewable energy sources, energy management, heat transfer and applied thermal-fluid dynamics, applied thermal engineering and refrigeration technique, thermal properties of materials, thermal measurement and control.
Current research aims at supplying basic knowledge and operating tools for modeling thermal-fluid dynamic processes included phase-transitions and two-phase flows, as well as providing solutions to engineering problems in fluid dynamic and heat transfer design for a wide range of applications such as energy and refrigeration systems, electronic cooling, biomedical processes.
